I am a teacher hailing from the state of Tennessee where I teach Reading and Language Arts to seventh graders. I’ve been teaching Literature and Language Arts for 5 years now in both Tennessee and Florida, but the purpose of this website is to promote a book I hope to be publishing soon and to promote myself as freelance writer on various subjects.  I have been working on the idea for this book for at least 4 years, but it has been a long term goal of mine to write books professionally. I hope that this one will help establish me as a notable writer of young adult literature.

The book is a fantasy book. Yes, I know we have quite enough of those, and it almost shamelessly steals ideas from my hero and writing mentor C.S. Lewis. He is so admired by me, that I have often used “Mr. Tumnus” as my pen name, and even wanted to use “Mr. Tumnus” as the name of the teacher recounting the stories of these children (Although I am not sure it will stand up to criticism as being anything less than obvious theft when in fact I wish it to be a tribute).

I do think the book is a more modern twist on C.S. Lewis’s style, and I would never dare to compare myself to being Lewis’s equal. However, you might see similar ideas in the fact that the series consists of a group of children who accidentally travel from this world to the another where they encounter talking animals and all manner of other things.

The key differences in this series are: first they tend be a little darker at times, and second there is more than one world, and with each book, I intend to open the door to another world. However, to stay focused, this book is mainly about the children trying to get back, and the dangers they face along the way. Another big focus of the series, and particularly the first book is sailing aboard great ships, Pirate ships and others, hence the title for this website, The Endless Seas Archives. Tentatively the first book is to be called “Detention Logs: The Pierats Voyages” Although, it seems more fitting for something else I have planned, probably 20 years from now. I am sure the final name will reveal itself when the time comes.

As a matter of interest, I am pleased to acknowleedge the book is in its final stages of editing and completion.  I intend to start sending out query letters within the next few weeks.  Finally, it is under debate as to whether I will do any self-publishing through services such as Lulu.com.  Also, Guinness is my favorite beer, and I want some right now. Cheers to ya!!
